Planting & Care

These are starter plants, and will require special care. They have been raised in a greenhouse, and will arrive actively growing. If your plants will be grown outdoors, they should be gradually acclimated to the outdoors and protected during their first winter if in colder climates. Plants that will be grown indoors need to be kept indoors during the winter, and generally only planted outdoors in tropical areas.

Black Ruffles love full sun - the more sun, the darker their leaves grow. If leaves are mostly green, your plant may require more sun. Black Ruffles are cold sensitive, and may need to be moved indoors in winter in colder areas; if planted in the ground, their tubers can be dug up and stored in a cool, dark place.
