This listing is for the purchase of 4 pack of Himalayan Mulberry starter trees. These are starter plants, they are very young trees and will need to treated with care until they mature and are ready to go outside.
Morus serrata, known as Himalayan mulberry, or white Himalayan mulberry, is an exceptional cultivar with great flavor. This variety is known as a large and fast growing tree. It produces excellent fruits, sweet with some acidity. This white mulberry is named for the color of its buds not the fruit, the fruits starts as a pale yellow-green and as it ripens the drupes turn to a dark pink/purple color. These fruits are of the longer variety, most are 1.5-4 inch long. The fruits have a similar length to the ‘Pakistan‘ variety but are skinnier. Once mature these are a fruitful tree that can produce several hundred pounds of fruit each year. Trees are will produce fruit without need for a pollinator, but may need a pollinator to produce viable seed.

If the tree is grown in a pot in cold regions, it will need to be moved indoors during the winter and then back outdoors once temperatures warm up. The white mulberry is the most cold-hardy of the mulberry varieties.
