Ice Cream Banana, also known as Blue Java, are tropical house plant favorites known for producing frosty blue-hued fruit and creamy, vanilla ice cream-like flavor. A hybrid of Musa acuminata and Musa balbisiana, this banana plant variety is prized for both its ornamental appeal and its deliciously unique fruit. Native to Southeast Asia and widely grown in Hawaii, it produces large, fragrant flowers followed by sweet, soft bananas ideal for fresh eating or desserts. With its lush, fast-growing habit, it brings both exotic beauty and homegrown edible treats to your garden, patio, or indoors as an indoor plant.

Ice Cream bananas have a silvery-blue peel when unripe that ripens to pale yellow, revealing creamy, pale ivory flesh with a soft, smooth texture and a sweet, vanilla-like flavor reminiscent of ice cream.
Our plants are propagated via tissue culture, a clonal process that results in true to type, disease-free plants that are grown on their own roots. They have been grown in ellepots to promote healthy root development.
