Anigozanthos ‘Bush Ranger’, commonly known as Kangaroo Paw, is an eye-catching Australian perennial celebrated for its fuzzy, paw-shaped blooms in deep red hues. These unusual, perennial flowers stand tall on slender stems above a base of lush, strap-like green foliage. Perfect for borders, containers, or adding a bold accent to garden beds, it brings a touch of the outback to any landscape. As the plant matures, its leaves lengthen and its flower stems grow taller, drawing in pollinators like birds and bees. MicroStarts' greenhouse-grown plants may initially have lighter-colored blooms, which will deepen once established outdoors.
Dianella tasmanica ‘Variegata’, also known as Variegated Flax Lily, is a beautiful evergreen perennial prized for its sword-like leaves striped in green and creamy white. Native to Tasmania and southeastern Australia, this clump-forming plant adds texture and color to borders, pathways, and container plantings. In spring and summer, it surprises with dainty blue flowers that give way to metallic purple berries. With its tidy growth habit and resilience to heat, drought, and deer, it’s a favorite for low-maintenance, ornamental landscaping.
